George Washington Inn & Conference Center to Fly Lexington Flag

(CLEVELAND, OH) March 25, 2008 – The George Washington Inn & Conference Center in historic Williamsburg, Virginia will join The Lexington Collection of fine hotels, plaza hotels, and resorts worldwide on April 4, 2008.

Guests can enjoy a comfortable stay at the modern five-story hotel, located near the heart of colonial Williamsburg, where historical figures such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson once roamed the streets in pursuit of the nation’s freedom and independence. The Lexington Hotel – George Washington Inn & Conference Center boasts 247 spacious, comfortable guest rooms, including 10 elegantly-appointed suites. The deluxe two-room premier suite, executive suite, oversized double-queen guestroom, and business-class guestrooms offer some of the most comfortable beds in Williamsburg. The hotel also features over 18,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space that can accommodate up to 900 attendees.

On-site at the hotel is a Barista featuring an assortment of flavorful coffees and teas. The Rusty Musket Tavern will serve home-style comfort foods. The Copper Scroll Restaurant, an upscale restaurant with a menu inspired by American bistro cuisine, is also on-site and will open in June.

During their stay, guests can enjoy the hotel’s oversize heated indoor swimming pool, an adjacent hot tub, and a fitness center.

In keeping with its scheduled renovations program, updates to the lobby, restaurant, bar, and barista will be completed in Spring 2008.
”This hotel occupies a special place in the city with the people,” said Bob Berliner, one of the owners of the Lexington Hotel. “Most residents can tell you about attending family or community functions here such as their senior prom or wedding. I’m thrilled that we are able to offer those experiences to the next generation of Williamsburg residents.”
The hotel is only minutes from such family attractions as Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Water Country USA, Williamsburg Winery, Jamestown Festival Park, Jamestown Island, and Yorktown Victory Center.

The Lexington Collection hotel chain premiered to the public in 2006 and has been charting a new course in the hospitality industry ever since. As The Lexington Collection – an innovative and affordable alternative to franchising – continues to make a major impact in the industry, additional announcements on strategic and operational developments will be made.
