Delta Flight Superintendents Choose PAFCA as Union Representative

Airline to continue nearly 40-year relationship with flight controllers? union

Mar 24, 2009

ATLANTA, March 24, 2009 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today issued the following memo from Neil Stronach, senior vice president – Operations Control, to the airline’s Operations Control employees regarding union representation results for flight superintendents.

“Today, the National Mediation Board (NMB) notified Delta that the combined flight superintendent group has elected the Professional Airline Flight Control Association (PAFCA) as their representative. We’ve enjoyed a good working relationship with PAFCA for nearly four decades and I look forward to that partnership continuing.

“PAFCA and the Transport Workers Union (TWU) recognized the importance of resolving union representation for our flight superintendents and I applaud them for their efforts on behalf of their members. Both groups joined hands with Delta to promptly recommend and ultimately ratify a joint collective bargaining agreement and combined seniority list in advance of representation issues being resolved. That contract and joint list will be effective for our combined group.

“Every day, we continue to make great progress in our merger integration efforts. Thank you for all you do.”
