Lexington’s New Midscale, Select-Service Brand Takes Off

(CLEVELAND, February 8, 2011) ? The Lexington Collection? of unique hotels, plaza hotels, and suites continues to expand its new midscale, select-service brand, Lexington Inn, with the opening of the Lexington Inn & Suites in Jonesboro, AR.

Formerly a Quality Suites, the all-suite property with 91 rooms is located near Arkansas State University, which houses one of the mid-south’s finest museums, a fine arts center, and an indoor sports/entertainment complex. Guests of the Lexington Inn & Suites in Jonesboro enjoy complimentary, deluxe continental breakfast, free USA Today newspapers, a well-equipped fitness center, and a sparkling indoor/outdoor pool. Additionally, the property has an on-site meeting facility, business center, and guest laundry facility.

Vantage launched the Lexington Inn select-service brand in December 2010 with the addition of the Lexington Inn located in Stillwater, MN. Lexington brands now cover the spectrum of hotel segments from midscale select-service to upscale. This strategic move will allow the brand to quickly accelerate its growth.
?We identified a major niche within the select-service, three-diamond, limited food and beverage segment whose needs were not being met by typical hotel franchises. Many of these hotel owners are being forced by their current brands to undertake very large and expensive renovations,? said Bill Hanley, group president, Lexington Collection. ?Vantage?s philosophy has always been ?one size does not fit all.? Many costly mandated renovations are often an unnecessary expense that must be incurred by the hotel owner, and have little positive impact on the property?s RevPAR. Although there are certain brand standards that Lexington Inns must meet, we believe that hotel owners know their market niches and they know what property improvements are important to maintain and grow their business. Lexington provides the comprehensive resources to help them increase their revenue and lower their fees, and we work with owners and operators one-on-one to help them meet their objectives.?
Hanley expects Lexington to add at least 15 properties by the end of the year. The Lexington brands currently include 21 properties either in the system or under development throughout the United States and China.
