Between the age of 4 and 12 on flights within Metropolitan France and the French Overseas Departments and between the age of 5 and 14 on international flights, unaccompanied children are taken care of throughout their trip by staff from Air France-KLM.
Several different activities and infrastructures have been introduced to ensure their journey goes off without a hitch.
In 2009, a UM (Unaccompanied Minor) lounge measuring 200 sq. m. was opened at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. This lounge, the biggest in Europe, has lots of different types of entertainment such as video games, magazines and toys.
Children with connections can spend their time enjoying what?s on offer in a reassuring atmosphere. There is also a UM lounge available at Orly airport.
On board, children can enjoy games, a wide variety of movies and cartoons on individual screens and special child menus for kids up to the age of 12. New kids? travel kits were introduced in October 2011, including colouring pencils and books, a travel log and games.
