A distinguished panel of travel industry experts, including BHA CEO Ufi Ibrahim, will look at inbound and outbound trends at a shared ownership conference.

The conference, being held by the Resort Development Organisation (RDO) at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel and Spa in London from September 23-26 is the annual gathering of resort development professionals in the European shared-ownership industry. Resort operations under the spotlight will include timeshare and fractional resorts, as well as an increasing number of hoteliers operating the mixed-use business model.

BHA CEO Ufi Ibrahim will be joined in a panel discussion at the RDO3 2012 conference, this year themed Going The Distance, by Geoff Cowley managing director of the Hoseasons Group and Steve Endacott of OnHoliday Group.

The panel, ?What We Are Up Against? will provide a chance to assess timeshare as an attractive proposition to consumers in today’s value-conscious travel market.

Timeshare is a popular choice with UK travellers, with around 589,653 owner households and 5,300 timeshare units in the UK.

Timeshare is a popular choice with UK travellers, with around 589,653 owner households and 5,300 timeshare units in the UK.

The panel is being moderated by Dimitris Manikis, RCI?s vice president, business development, Europe/Middle East/Africa. RCI, the global leader in holiday exchange services, is also a BHA patron.

Dimitris Manikis said: ?We are pleased to see Ufi and the BHA contributing to the conference, as both timeshare, and fractional hospitality products provide excellent additional revenue generation opportunities for hoteliers looking to diversify their product offering. Mixed-use hospitality products are performing very well and the conference will provide hoteliers with the ideas, know-how and contacts they need to maximise their assets by bringing shared-ownership into the mix.?

Ufi Ibrahim said: ?In these challenging times diversification is key. Our relationship with RCI has demonstrated how some hotels could benefit from a mixed-use model ? incorporating timeshare and fractional ownership components. The RDO3 2012 conference will offer a good opportunity for our members to find out more and to meet with the RCI business development team.?

Richard McIntosh, managing director of RCI affiliate, Hilton Grand Vacations, and RDO chairman, said:? ?We?re delighted to have such esteemed travel industry figures attending RDO3 2012 conference. We?re confident Ufi Ibrahim and the other panellists will bring invaluable perspectives to the session from the wider travel and hospitality market sectors.

?At Hilton, timeshare has delivered year-round 95 per cent occupancy and has proven a resilient market in a downturn.?

RCI representatives will be available throughout the RDO3 2012 conference to discuss shared-ownership business models and operations.

In conjunction with RDO, RCI has negotiated a ?75 registration fee discount for BHA members attending the conference.
