In September 560,693 passengers flew with Brussels Airlines. The seat load factor remained stable. Compared to last year the airline transported more passengers on its long haul flights whereas the European flights saw a decline.
The number of passengers travelling on Brussels Airlines between Europe and Africa grew with 11.9% versus the same month last year. The new route to New York, opened in June, reported good results with a seat load factor of 88.8%. Brussels Airlines decided to adapt its European flight offer to the declining demand for intra-European flights. This strategic choice is reflected in the overall passenger numbers of September.
The Passenger Load Factor remained stable and amounted to 72.9 % (+0.1%).
These figures do not include the passengers of charter flights operated by Brussels Airlines on behalf of Belgian and foreign tour operators.
