William (Billy) Bos, senior manager of worldwide sales for Best Western International, was recently recognized as Allied Member of the Year by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) in front of an audience of 7,000 at its annual convention in Boston.
The Allied Member of the Year award is given to a travel industry employee who has made significant contributions that have helped advance the industry overall. Bos was chosen for the honor because of his work with both GBTA?s Sports Business Travel Committee and Future Task Force Initiative. He has dedicated countless hours to both groups to help make their missions a success. Past recipients of this tremendous distinction have included Dwayne Ingram, executive vice president with Amadeus Americas in 2011 and Jack O?Neill, president of Carlson Wagonlit Travel North America in 2010.
?This award not only shows Billy?s strong commitment to making an impact at Best Western, but to the entire industry, as well,? said Dorothy Dowling, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Best Western International. ?His dedication, leadership, and support of our clients, our brand, and our industry make him truly deserving of this honor. I?m proud to have him on my team.?
At Best Western, Bos focuses specifically on the sports and corporate travel markets, driving group and transient business to Best Western hotels throughout the year. He is a 20-year veteran in the travel industry, and has been with Best Western since 2008. In addition to being a member of GBTA?s Sports Business Travel Committee, Bos is also actively involved with Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, along with the Business Travel Associations for Texas, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Houston.
