• Two pairs of oneworld Explorer round-the-world Business Class tickets to be won in consumer competition to mark latest addition to world’s premier airline alliance
airberlin and oneworld® are promoting the addition of Germany’s second largest airline to the premier airline alliance today with a joint advertising campaign – under the slogan "Boarding Completed" – which is running from today in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The new campaign is centred on the motif of an airberlin Airbus just taking off, along with the logos of oneworld and its member airlines.
The campaign will run in print and online media, and posters in city centres and at the airports of Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. The print advertising will concentrate on supra-regional publications read by decision-makers.
airberlin’s Chief Commercial Officer Paul Gregorowitsch said: "These airports are used primarily and frequently by our business travellers. Our frequent flyers in particular benefit from our oneworld membership and the excellent flight connections. They can collect and redeem topbonus miles throughout the oneworld route network."
The campaign is being accompanied by promotions at Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich and Vienna airports.
One of its key elements is an online competition – with two pairs of "oneworld Explorer four-continent round-the-world Business Class tickets as the top prizes. For details, or to enter, go to airberlin.com/oneworld before 30 April 2012.
The new campaign follows on from the advertising theme initially unveiled in November 2011 by airberlin and oneworld under the title "Departure 2012". This marked the first time in its history that oneworld had appeared on posters and advertisements together with an airline recruit before it had become a member of the alliance.

About airberlin
Since its launch in 1978, airberlin has grown into Germany’s second largest airline – and the sixth biggest in Europe in terms of passengers boarded – after taking over dbaand LTU and gaining stakes in Austria’s NIKI and Switzerland’s Belair.
It serves 162 destinations in 40 countries, carrying more than 35 million passengers in 2011. Its fleet comprises 170 aircraft with an average age of five years, making it one of the most modern and fuel efficient fleets in Europe, contributing towards a long-term reduction in emissions. The group employs 9,200 staff.
It has developed from its origins in the shorthaul leisure market to cater also for business travellers with its Euro Shuttle service providing high frequency connections between many of the continent’s key destinations and now also flies longhaul. It offers the full-range of services associated with a full-service network carrier, including its frequent flyer programme topbonus, and, for Business Class passengers and top tier cardholders, lounges, priority check-in and, for all passengers, free drinks and meals or snacks on every departure.
On its shorthaul services, it offers a single-class cabin. On its longhaul routes, it offers two-classes, with a premium business cabin and individual in-flight entertainment screens for each passenger.
airberlin’s hubs are Berlin Tegel (moving to Brandenburg in June), Dusseldorf, Palma de Majorca and Vienna. Among its international destinations, it serves oneworld hubs Helsinki, Los Angeles, Madrid, Miami, Moscow Domodedovo and New York JFK.
