When we arrived here, the service was excellent. Talk about 5-star treatment! They carried our bags to our room and were very friendly. Then we met Leslie, Emile, and Lee-Ann ? wow they are amazing people; they made us feel so welcome. After our information session, we went for a photo shoot ? I felt like a celebrity! We went for dinner afterwards ? very nice food and still excellent service, friendly staff, you name it!

This was an awesome experience and I call my first day my ?5-star day? because I really received 5-star treatment!?

So day one of the boot camp was just amazing. The day started with my arrival from Pretoria to Cape Town at around 13:40. The shuttle driver then picked me up at 14:30 by the bus station and drove me to the hotel. I was the first to arrive amongst my competitors and I checked in at 15:00.

The warmth that I felt from the hotel staff could make anyone feel at home. When I walked into my room and looked out of the window to the most beautiful view ever, I knew that I was going to love my stay at the hotel. To top it all off, we were prepared a fantastic three-course meal that had all the trimmings.

The real action starts tomorrow so I better get a good night?s sleep…?

Wow, this is crazy. Coming from a farm, this is a once in a lifetime experience; I mean, even the lights work with a card thing! My room is breathtaking, unlike a tractor stuck in the mud?

The lunch was divine and I got a special Red Cappuccino from my new favorite waitress. I love the nice view of the sea. It is so much fun seeing everyone again, and this week is going to be a blast.

It?s my time for breakfast duty tomorrow morning at 05h30. I?m going to have a nice cup of coffee and go to bed? Tomorrow is going to be a long hardworking day for all of us.?

My first day at the hotel started of on high note when I met Patricia Lewis. I am staying in the on-suite bedroom and the rooms are amazing! I love the ocean view from the balcony and the luxurious feel of the rooms. Being able to stay in The Peninsula has really inspired and motivated me to work hard to become wealthy so that I can also one day be able to afford staying in a grand hotel like The Peninsula.

The three course dinner was delicious and the scenery breathtaking. The experience thus far has been amazing and I look forward to what?s in store for us for the rest of the week.?

Only one winner at each campus can be chosen to have their full tuition fees paid for ? for any IHS programme they wish to study ? for the duration of the programme, valued up to R180?000! The pupil who succeeds in all of the challenges will take home the bursary and winning title.
