China Airlines to Recruit 126 Taiwanese Flight Attendants, Welcoming “Expert Story Tellers”

China Airlines announced today that it is accepting applications for 126 Taiwanese flight attendant positions to meet the increased manpower demands of additional Asia and Oceania flights as well as the expansion of cross-strait routes in the future. This is the second recruitment drive for flight attendants organized by China Airlines since March this year and “expert story tellers” are particularly welcomed.

China Airlines (CAL) stated that the friendly attitude and excellent expressive ability of flight attendants helps them communicate with and serve customers. From introducing the in-flight delicacies to the selling of duty-free products, verbal eloquence helps to highlight CAL’s commitment to attentive service. Apart from regular in-flight services, CAL flight attendants are also given more opportunities to interact with passengers. The sharing of travel experiences and unconventional services offered by the “In-flight Tour Leader” service on selected routes, such as Bali and Kuala Lumpur, has proved very popular. For this reason, CAL is now looking for “expert story tellers” with good manners, a friendly attitude, a passion for service and excellent interactive skills.

To apply to become a CAL flight attendant, the candidate must hold a university degree and possess English-language qualification consisting of a TOEIC score of 550 or higher, or other comparable English-language ability certification. From now until September 16, applicants can register online at the CAL website: (http://calec.china-airlines.com/HRS/about_career.aspx). Qualified applicants will take the first round interview at the CAL Park in Taoyuan in late September. Applicants can check to see if they have been short listed on the CAL website in early October. Those who pass second round interview and final overall evaluation will be invited to join training programs in late October and only those that complete the professional and rigorous training provided by CAL will qualify as CAL flight attendants.

There are currently around 2,800 CAL flight attendants. The excellent training, benefits and career path make the job of flight attendant one of the most attractive careers for young people. Apart from flight attendants, CAL is also recruiting pilots, maintenances, IT and human resources professionals. At CAL, recruitment has always been conducted in a fair, equitable and transparent manner with no outside influence allowed. CAL invites all talented people to come and take the exams and join the CAL family.
