Entries now open for Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2012 Scotland

Now in their third year the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2012 Scotland entries are now open for Scottish employers to put themselves forward and. Launched by hospitality recruitment specialists, Caterer.com, the accolades are designed to reward and recognise the best hospitality employers in the industry.

Employers are encouraged to enter the awards and be open be judged by their employees, allowing their teams to have a voice and opinion in how they feel as an integral cog within the business. Ian Burke, Director at Caterer.com said;

?Last year?s awards in Scotland highlighted the superb quality of employers in the industry. This year we aim to find some more independents that are leading the way, as well as reward the groups that are developing their teams and retaining talent.?

The past two years have seen entries from across the industry and all entrants are managed online by partners and talent specialists – Learnpurple, who measure employee engagement.? Jane Sunley, CEO of Learnpurple said;

?We are delighted to be working with the Caterer.com team for a third year running.? Our role ensures that employers being judged – both engage and develop talent to allow them to prosper and grow. This allows us to validate the true heroes in the industry and highlight best practice.?

Last year?s winner of Best Employer in Hospitality 2011 Scotland went to Summer Isles Hotel, whose focus on their staff wellbeing and motivation shone through.

Jody Marshall, General Manager, Summer Isles Hotel said;

?This year we’re getting the cream of Scottish and British workers join us and we put this down to the award. It’s great to have the accolade of winning the Best Employer in Hospitality 2011, however the bottom line is that it is all about the people and the family unit we create to deliver excellence. The hotel is currently undergoing a rebrand to be bigger and better and we will certainly be entering the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards again this year”.

  • Best Tour Operator Employer – Rabbie’s Small Group Tours
  • Best Small Group Hotel Employer – Mercure Livingston Hotel
  • Best Medium Group Hotel Employer – Principal Hayley in Scotland
  • Best Large Group Hotel Employer – The Rezidor Hotel Group

Winner of Best Tour Operator Employer, Rabbie?s Small Group Tours also commented on their success:

“We were very pleased with last year?s result. It was great recognition for the staff, we’re a strong team and it was fantastic for us to achieve the status of Best Tour Operator Employer 2011.
