Fairmont Strengthens its Position as an International Employer of Choice

Luxury Hotel Brand Celebrates Top Award and Launch of New FairmontCareers.com site

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts today announced the official launch of its new-look Careers Website, a compelling gateway for today?s top talent to connect with the brand. Building on Fairmont?s reputation as an exceptional employer and supporting the luxury hotel brand?s global expansion plans, the site debuts a wide range of upgrades that provide a window to rewarding career opportunities and engaging experiences in hotels around the world.

Coinciding with the site?s launch and as testament to its venerable status as a top place to work, Fairmont is also proud to herald its latest mark of distinction, having recently been named one of just 27 worldwide recipients of the coveted 2012 Gallup Great Workplace Award. Recognizing employers whose work force score within the top percentile for productivity and engagement, Fairmont was chosen from a database comprised of millions of work teams in more than 100 countries.

?We?re delighted to have been singled out by a group as respected as Gallup and are just as excited to be rolling out our new career website, which for many potential candidates is their first point of contact with the brand,? explains Kim Van Pelt, Executive Director, Talent Management, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. ?The site?s new design brings the brand to life, not only with its look, feel and positioning, but also by reflecting our core commitments to personalization, building relationships and delivering unparalleled service. At the same time, its new capabilities strengthen our mandate to recruit the industry?s best and brightest to deliver Fairmont?s unique guest experience throughout our growing global collection.?

Social Media, Multilingual Content & More

Career site users wishing to pursue a career with Fairmont will now enjoy greater options enabled by the brand?s new Talent Acquisition System, which has already launched in over 45 Fairmont hotels and will be fully implemented brandwide by Summer 2012. The system provides a more advanced job searching widget, allows prospective colleagues to be electronically notified when new positions and vacancies are posted, and facilitates resume uploading to Fairmont?s global database for future opportunities that complement their skills and career aspirations.

With more than 80 per cent of Fairmont?s development activity taking place outside of North America, the revamped career site also supports the brand?s recruitment efforts in strategic markets around the world. The site now houses online content in multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic and Mandarin, with plans to add additional dialects in future.

A variety of new media features make fairmontcareers.com more equipped than ever to engage and network with its broad audience. Of these, the most compelling are high-impact videos of Fairmont colleagues speaking passionately and personally about their career experiences, the Fairmont culture and the brand?s service promise. Links to Fairmont?s dedicated Careers Facebook profile and Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube pages also populate the new site, while information on the brand?s industry-leading environmental program is prominently featured on its homepage.

On top of these new features, many areas of the site have been expanded to include more comprehensive information on Fairmont?s Leadership Development Program, internships and apprenticeships, Student Work Experience Program (SWEP), career development, recognition and rewards, and more.

?With the majority of applicants now using the web to research companies, post resumes and apply for openings, it?s imperative to have a strong online employment presence ? and I think our new site more than delivers,? says Carolyn Clark, Fairmont?s Senior Vice President, Human Resources. ?Our colleagues are the heart and soul of our company, and our new career site provides a global gateway for top talent to build an exciting future with the Fairmont brand.?
