IOC President touches down in London ahead of Games

President Rogge will chair an IOC Executive Board meeting on 21 July and the 124th IOC Session from 24 to 26 July.

Greeted at the airport by London Organising Committee Chairman Sebastian Coe and IOC member Sir Craig Reedie, President Rogge told reporters he was confident London would stage fantastic Games this summer.

?I can?t wait for the Opening Ceremony,? he said. ?I expect the maximum from London. There have been a few challenges during preparations for the Games, but they have been dealt with quickly and efficiently and all our bases are now covered. It has made me optimistic that London 2012 will be great Games.?

These will be the last Olympic Games of President Rogge?s 12-year term in office, which began in 2001 and comes to a close at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires in September 2013.
