Kinderhotels: Rosy cheeks, wintery weeks

?Mummy, daddy, look at meeeeeee!? as your wee one proudly glides down her first bunny slope – a wintery memory for the family album for sure. Then there?s the beaming family photo already emailed to grandma and grandpa with the snowman that everyone had fun rolling into life, just before a well-deserved treat of warm, power-sugared Kaiserschmarrn ? now a firm favourite with the kids. Winter is a special season in Austria, celebrated for its outdoor recreation, magical landscapes and special Advent spirit. At Kinderhotels, Austria?s leading provider of all-inclusive family holidays, it?s no exception. Here, winter is always fun, fresh and above all family-orientated.

While an annual tradition for some and a delightful first visit for others, Kinderhotels have been welcoming families for over 20 years in some of Austria?s loveliest winter locations. This trusted brand has, however, over recent years caught the attention of British families in search of affordable European breaks that offer the best value for money while not compromising on quality and service. With 36 Kinderhotels to choose from, these unique family-run properties are regularly subject to strict quality checks in order to retain their Kinderhotels designation and ensure that guests enjoy top notch accommodation, facilities and hospitality. In addition to all-inclusive pricing, and up to 60 hours a week of free child and baby care, ski instruction is made fun and safe for tots as young as two at Kinderhotels? own Tiny Tots Ski Schools.

Luggage woes a thing of the past

Let?s face it – travelling with children is no light undertaking. Despite being the smallest members of the family, their ?stuff? often requires the largest of luggage. Let Kinderhotels literally take the weight off your shoulders when it comes to packing. Leave all those cumbersome baby accessories at home as all guests have access to buggies, baby slings, highchairs, baby care packages, proper child and baby beds, and mealtime essentials such as bibs, child-friendly utensils, and bottle warmers; age-appropriate car seats will also be arranged with any transfers booked. And, don?t let Old Man Winter trick you into an extra suitcase, as ski hire is easily arranged by your Kinderhotels hosts, and you?ll have fun browsing for any additional cold weather gear you may need at the ski shops in the nearby resort village.

One step, two steps, the third on skis!

In Austria, first steps are soon followed by a first time on skis, with children as young as two welcomed at ski schools across the country, including at Kinderhotels? own Tiny Tots Ski Schools. Specially trained ski instructors will introduce children of all ages to the basic techniques of downhill skiing in a safe and relaxed environment, with groups kept at a maximum of five children and special magic carpet ?lifts? that keep small feet on the ground. Any wobbles and mum and dad aren?t far away as lessons take place on nursery slopes either right beside the hotel or in close proximity.
