Launching a presence in Amsterdam

The Frankfurt-based Steigenberger Hotel Group will be adding Amsterdam to its list of locations. At the beginning of September 2012 the company takes over a Four Star Superior Hotel boasting 440 rooms at Schiphol International Airport.

Steigenberger is just about to check in at Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam. The Frankfurt-based hotel company will be acquiring representation at a further international airport by taking over the former Dorint Hotel Amsterdam-Airport with effect from 1 September 2012 and thus adding to the presence it already enjoys at Frankfurt Main Airport. A further Steigenberger Airport Hotel will be opening next year at the new airport in Berlin.

The elegant Four Star Superior Hotel at Schiphol, the fourth largest airport in Europe, will have 440 rooms including ten luxury suites, one executive suite, three restaurants, a Coffee and Wine Lounge, a Sports and Media Bar, an 800 m? gym and health spa area featuring a pool, an interior courtyard with a garden and terrace and comprehensive conferencing facilities extending over an area of 960 m?. The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam is located near to the Forest of Amsterdam and offers excellent transport links to the city centre, which is only ten minutes away by car.

?The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam represents a strategic expansion of our presence at important transportation hubs in Europe?, explains Matthias Heck, CFO of Steigenberger Hotels AG.

The lessor of the property, the Congress Hotel at Amsterdam Airport GmbH & Co. KG, is an investment company which belongs to the E&P Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG, based in Cologne.

The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam now joins the Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel in Den Haag-Scheveningen to become the second Steigenberger Hotel Group establishment in the Netherlands. Further hotels are at the planning stage.
