New Restructured Services – Termination of Mediterranean West Africa Express (MWX)

19 Apr 2012

Hapag-Lloyd informs about the termination of the MWX Service.

We refer to our previous CustomerInfo of April 5, 2012, where we had the pleasure to introduce our improved West Africa service network as from May 2012.

The enhanced West Africa Express (WAX) and the new complementary West Africa Mediterranean Express (WMX) will improve our West Africa service substantially in terms of reliability, frequency and faster transit times to and from West Africa.

At the same time the new service structure will offer an improved connectivity to other trades via transshipment at Tangier onto our major services ex US West Coast, Caribbean, South America East Coast, North Europe as well as Mediterranean.

In light of these enhancements we will discontinue our current Mediterranean West Africa Express (MWX) effective mid-May 2012, which today connects Algeciras and Tangier with Tema, Lagos/Apapa and Cotonou.
