Pacifico Makes Waves as the Official Beer of the 2012 U.S. Open of Surfing

Responsible Drinking Encouraged with Free Pacifico Pedicab and Shuttle Bus Rides

For the third consecutive year, Pacifico, the authentic pilsner-style Mexican beer, will give back to its roots within the surfing community by providing free local transportation to the 2012 U.S. Open of Surfing (USOS), promoting responsible drinking at the event.

From July 28 to August 5, Huntington Beach, California will be transformed into the epicenter of surf culture with more than 750,000 expected USOS attendees. As the official beer of the event, and presenting sponsor of the Noseriding Invitational, Pacifico will continue providing attendees with an assortment of opportunities to responsibly enjoy the week of festivities.

To encourage the responsible enjoyment of Pacifico, the brand will circulate ten branded pedicabs and a shuttle bus from August 2 through August 5, offering free rides to those 21 and older seeking safe transit to the epic surfing action. Responsible USOS fans can catch a free ride to the pier by flagging down the specially marked pedicabs that will be cruising downtown Huntington Beach. The Pacifico shuttle bus will provide free rides from Newport Beach to Huntington Beach making a continuous loop on August 2-5th from 10 a.m. ? 7 p.m.

Since the brand?s U.S. introduction by American surfer pioneers who brought Pacifico back after exploring the uncharted waters off of Mexico?s Baja Peninsula, the brew has quickly become the choice of surfers chasing the perfect wave in Southern California to skiers ripping through fresh powder in Colorado and consumers throughout the U.S.
