Qantas today announced it would increase capacity to the nation?s capital from 29 October by up to 1,076 seats per week.
Qantas Domestic Chief Executive Officer Lyell Strambi said the increased capacity would further reaffirm Qantas? strong presence in the Canberra market.
?The Qantas Group offers the most services to the Canberra market with over 500 flights per week to and from Canberra,? Mr Strambi said.
?We are pleased to offer even more capacity and frequency providing convenient connections to destinations across the Qantas network.?
From 29 October, Qantas will add five extra services per week between Adelaide and Canberra adding 740 seats to market.
The new services will be operated by QantasLink Q400 aircraft and will complement services already operated by Boeing 737 aircraft bringing the total number of services to 37 per week.
The new Adelaide services will operate at the following times:
– QF2091 will depart Canberra at 1105 and arrive in Adelaide at 1235
– QF2092 will depart Adelaide at 1305 and arrive in Canberra at 1535
Mr Strambi said these new services will provide middle of the day travel options for both business and leisure travellers.
Qantas will also make adjustments to its Melbourne to Canberra schedule with one return service being upgraded from a Q300 to a Q400 aircraft adding 336 seats per week to the route. Qantas currently offers 69 return services per week on the route utilising Boeing 767, Boeing 737, Q400 and Q300 aircraft.

Qantas offers direct flights from Canberra to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.
