Attracting 620 entries from over 60 countries, we announce the winners of the fourth annual Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. The Awards ceremony was held at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London on Thursday evening and was attended by over 400 of the UK and world?s most influential designers and hospitality operators.
The presentations of Best Restaurant and Best Bar were presided over by Peter Boizot, the founder of Pizza Express.
The RIBA is an iconic art deco building representing the best in architecture and design. Our challenge was to create an innovative and cutting edge visual event that compliments the standards of this great institution. The inspiration for this year?s Awards ceremony was sourced from the art deco lines that form an effective decorative language throughout the building. We saw these lines as representing strong ?designer? values such as progress, direction and creativity. We created a structure that was not only visually stunning, but also functionally literate ensuring guests experience a canape & cocktail party like no other.
