StarWorld Macau Fully Supports Macau Racer Rodolfo ?vila

 

5 November 2012, Hong Kong & Macau —- StarWorld Macau today proudly announced an exclusive sponsorship of Rodolfo Ávila, the youngest-ever Asian Supercar Challenge Champion, for his participation in the upcoming GT Cup race at the 59th Macau Grand Prix.  The design of Rodolfo’s race car was unveiled during the press conference at the hotel’s Whisky Bar, which offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the grand prix circuit.

Mr Gabriel Hunterton, Chief Operating Officer of StarWorld Macau, said, ‘StarWorld Macau, as part of the Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”), is keen on supporting the development of local motorsports. In the upcoming Macau Grand Prix, we are delighted to sponsor a well-known Macau driver, Rodolfo Ávila, who has been raised and developed his motorsports career in Macau for many years.  His continuous pursuit of excellence made him the youngest-ever “Asian SuperCar Challenge Champion”.  On behalf of StarWorld Macau, I sincerely wish the best of luck to Rodolfo in the upcoming race.’

As a responsible corporate citizen, GEG has rendered great support to a variety of international sports events, including Macau International Marathon, Macau FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and Macau Grand Prix, as part of its efforts to assist Macau to become the World Center of Tourism and Leisure.

Rodolfo joined Mr Hunterton to unveil the design of his race car at the ceremony. He said, “I am very proud to represent Macau in the upcoming Macau Grand Prix. With decades of history, the race has become a significant part of Macau culture. I would like to thank StarWorld Macau for their support to me and in local sports development. I truly treasure this opportunity and hope that through this collaboration we can further promote our city to a global audience.”

3)    Guests at the ceremony made a toast to wish the best of luck to Rodolfo in the upcoming race in the forthcoming GT Cup race at the 59th Macau Grand Prix.

Rodolfo has grown up and acquired his professional racing car training locally in Macau. His passion for professional car racing has taken him on the road to success. In 2002, he made history as the youngest driver to take part in the Macau Grand Prix. Subsequently, he continued to break records in international races, including becoming the youngest driver to win the ASCC championship in 2008, the first Macau driver and youngest race winner in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in 2009 as well as the vice-champion of Porsche Carrera Cup Asia vice in 2011.

 

4)    Rodolfo Ávila will drive the StarWorld Macau branded race car to represent the city in the forthcoming GT Cup race at the 59th Macau Grand Prix.
