SWISS marks Bern?s yodelling festival with its inflight fare

In honour of this month?s Cantonal Yodelling Festival in Schwarzenburg near Bern, SWISS Business customers will be offered culinary specialities from Switzerland?s capital from 13 to 19 June. Travellers on selected inbound flights on SWISS?s European network will be served such traditional fare as Kalbsbratwurst mit R?sti (veal sausage with hash browns), vegetarian ?lplermakkaroni (macaroni in cheese sauce) or a Chaltes Pl?ttli (a cold cut meat selection). Inflight guests will be further provided with an illustrated booklet on the event, which also includes traditional flag-twirling and alphorn music.
????
The Schwarzenburg Yodelling Festival is the third Swiss custom to be celebrated under SWISS?s new ?SWISS Traditions? inflight culinary concept, following Basel?s ?Fasnacht? (in February) and Zurich?s ?Sechsel?uten? (in April). The concept sees traditional Swiss dishes supplemented every six weeks or so by specialities from the region of the latest festival on Switzerland?s cultural calendar. Next up (in August) will be the Wrestling Festival in Schw?galp in Eastern Switzerland; and towards the end of the year the focus will shift to Southern and Western Switzerland, with Ascona?s ?Castagnata? and Geneva?s ?F?te de l?Escalade?.
