The Springboard Charity Wins 2012 Tourism Society Award

Over 50 leading industry representatives gathered for The Tourism society?s Annual Dinner at the House of Commons to see The Springboard Charity?s Chief Executive, Anne Pierce, collect the prestigious Tourism Society Springboard Award for 2012 presented by Lord Thurso MP FTS (the Society?s President).

The Award is designed to recognise individuals or organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the development and success of the UK Tourism Industry.

Springboard UK and the Springboard Charity was praised for its work with helping young people, unemployed and disadvantaged people get careers in hospitality, leisure and tourism over the last 21 years

Pierce commented, ?I?m delighted to accept this on behalf of everyone involved with Springboard, our teams in the UK, our Boards, our investors and the honeycomb of fantastic partners we work with. It?s vital that we keep engaging everyone?s support as we strive to combat youth unemployment and supply industry with the talent needed to sustain growth.?

Springboard follows in a long line of high profile winners including, Michel Roux Jr, The National Trust and the producers of BBC series Coast.
