Verre by Gordon Ramsay was reopened after a minor refurbishment, but the real change was in the head chef. Scott Price ? who?s still in his twenties ? was flown in from Claridge?s in London. He brought staff with him who have totally revitalised the restaurant. The addition of the chef?s table, with a nine-course menu, is arguably the most inventive meal in the Middle East and at Dhs640-per-head it represents pretty good value when compared to the price of meals at rival establishments. A cracking return to form, amid more competition than there?s ever been.
