- Austrian Airlines among the ten best airlines in Europe
- Ranked one of the top three worldwide for business class catering for the third straight year
- Third place in the category Signature Dish with its Viennese coffee house service
Austrian Airlines has maintained its position as one of Europe?s top airlines, and was given a top rating for the third year in a row as one of the best airlines in the world for business class catering, ranking second this time around. Austrian Airlines also scored points with passengers for its Viennese coffee house services, the basis for its third place rating globally in the category ?Signature Dish? i.e. an airline?s own dish used as a trademark. In the overall ranking of the best airlines in Europe, Austrian Airlines was rated once again among the top ten, placing eighth.
Once again at the top with investments of over EUR 80 million in the Austrian product
Austrian Airlines was rated as the 39th best airline in the world in the overall rankings of the 200 airlines which were evaluated. It was still ranked 17th in the year 2011. ?Each day we get feedback from our customers, and see this ranking as a call upon us to invest in our product?, says Austrian CCO Karsten Benz. ?On long-haul routes we will complement our outstandingly rated catering and the excellent service of our employees by adding new seats and an improved entertainment system. We are investing more than EUR 80 million in our product this year. The cabins in our aircraft will be refitted by March 2013?, he explains. In addition, Austrian has improved service and comfort for passengers thanks to the new Austrian Star Alliance Terminal and the new lounges, and has upgraded its catering with ? la carte meals from DO & CO.
