SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 16, 2013)?- The newly restyled W San Diego Hotel is pleased to announce Chef Simon Dolinky and W Insider Megan Guy as the newest members of their dynamic team of experts. Dolinky brings more than 15 years of experience to his new position as Executive Chef of the W San Diego’s signature restaurant, Kelvin, while Guy offers a broad range of knowledge to her new position as the ‘W Insider’ for the premier destination located in downtown San Diego.

Prior to joining the W San Diego, Dolinky served as Executive Chef of Saltbox Dining & Drinking in San Diego’s Hotel Palomar, and throughout his career, Dolinky has worked with some of the most prestigious and well-recognized chefs in the industry. Beginning his culinary career under the tutelage of James Beard award-winning Chef Sanford D’Amato of Coquette Cafe in Milwaukee, Dolinky took his culinary adventures abroad to Madrid, Spain where he landed as a pastry chef at one of the city’s best Italian restaurants, Ristorante II Gusto de Milano. Returning to the United States in 2003, Dolinky delved further into culinary diversity, settling in New Orleans where he secured positions at August restaurant, helmed by Iron Chef winner and Food & Wine Best New Chef, John Best. A passionate and multi-faceted chef, Dolinky has also worked in the kitchens of Susan Spicer’s Bayona restaurant and David English’s restaurant, Cobalt. Dolinky has also served as Executive Sous Chef to the acclaimed Chef Christian Graves of JSix restaurant at the Hotel Solamar in San Diego, Executive Chef at BLVD 16 Restaurant & Lounge at the Hotel Palomar in Los Angeles. In his new position as Executive Chef of Kelvin, Dolinky plans to add his personal touches to the venue and banquet menus as well as eventually do a complete menu overhaul of the Kelvin menu.
Guy, who will serve as the W San Diego’s new ‘W Insider’, joins the team from Four Seasons Hotels where she recently held the position of Food & Beverage Supervisor at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami. Previous to that, she worked at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin in the same role. Guy, who is originally from San Diego and has extensive connections within the local community and top trendsetters, will be able to link guests with what’s new, what’s hot and what’s not-to-miss in San Diego. Guy’s primary role is to elevate the guest experience by providing insider access to local lifestyle-related hotspots including new and hip boutiques, restaurants, galleries, design points of interest, premieres, album releases, and in-hotel happenings. Whether looking for a new art opening, the hottest restaurants or best live music venue, Guy will take guests behind the velvet ropes and deliver personalized experiences that are extraordinary, unexpected and surprising.
