Destination Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Ed Simon as Vice President of Sales. In this new position, Simon is responsible for overall sales force effectiveness, including direct sales strategic direction, business intelligence and sales support systems, disciplined sales operational platforms. Simon will lead the strategic development and deployment of the Destination national group, corporate transient sales and luxury retail travel sector, enhancing Destination?s above property sales and overall revenue generation to meet the top line revenue goals for the expanding portfolio.
With more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience, Simon has been involved in the selling and positioning of over 150 world class independent hotels, resorts and conference centers. Prior to joining Destination Hotels & Resorts, Simon spent the bulk of his career with Associated Luxury Hotels International in Washington D.C., beginning as a sales manager and working his way up to Regional Vice President of Sales, where he oversaw the sales operations of the Washington D.C. and Richmond, Va. sales offices. During his tenure, Simon maintained active participation in ASAE, MPI and AMC Institute, while serving on various committee leadership roles amongst them. Simon also served as Senior National Sales Manager at Keystone Resort in Denver, Colo. from 1997 to 2000, where he continued to oversee the Mid-Atlantic association market. Simon also spent time with Remington Hotels in Dallas, Texas as Divisional Vice President of Sales & Marketing for their independent and luxury division, where he led a team of 40 sales professionals.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Science from the Penn State University School of Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management.
