16 September 2013?- Grace Hotels is pleased to announce two senior appointments following its recent expansion in New England. Stuart Barwise becomes General Manager of the newly acquired Mayflower Grace and Regional General Manager, New England. Ian Grant has been appointed Regional Food & Beverage Director, New England.
Barwise and Grant both join from US Hotels, the sister group of Grace Hotels, where they held the roles of Director, Hotel Operations, and Director, Food & Beverage Operations respectively. Each brings a wealth of experience: Barwise has honed his expertise in the hospitality field over a period of 30 years, latterly in leadership positions at prestigious establishments including the White Barn Inn & Spa, Embassy Suites Hotel Portland and The Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii, and as Vice President of Lodging and General Manager of the ski and golf resort, Sugarloaf. At US Hotels his role included the oversight of group-wide technology, community and government relations and business development within the New England region.
Grant began his hospitality career at the French Culinary Institute in New York City where he was awarded a Grand Diploma of Culinary Arts. After cooking in the restaurants Bouley, Jean Georges, Daniel and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Grant progressed into food and beverage management where he worked for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and The Soho House Group during its international expansion phase.
Philippe Requin, CEO of Grace Hotels, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Stuart and Ian to the team at this exciting moment for Grace Hotels in the US. With the addition of The Mayflower Grace and The White Barn Grace, The Vanderbilt Grace has now been joined by two similarly iconic, historic New England properties. We have an exceptionally strong team to oversee their ongoing development and evolution within Grace Hotels over the coming months. Stuart and Ian will be a true asset to the group internationally and we look forward to experiencing their passion and determination in cementing the success of the brand in New England.”
