Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the largest full-service beachfront resort on Northwest Florida?s Gulf Coast, has appointed Jason Smith as the new executive chef for Sandcastles Restaurant and Lounge. Smith?s professional background includes a variety of techniques and styles, including pastry and confectionery, wine pairing, butchery and international cuisine. He will play an important role in elevating the dining experience at Sandcastles, which is being dramatically upgraded as part of a $12.5 million dollar capital improvement project currently underway at the resort.

Prior to joining Sandcastles, Smith served in positions of increasing responsibility in the culinary departments of notable destination properties, including Marriott?s Marco Island Resort and Spa, Florida; The Boulders, A Waldorf Astoria Resort; Carefree, Ariz.; JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, Phoenix, Ariz.; and The Phoenician, A Luxury Collection Resort, Scottsdale, Ariz.
