Hyatt Regency Boston appointed Melanie Walent as the new director of sales and marketing for the property. In this role, Melanie will be responsible for all aspects of Hyatt Regency Boston’s short and long-term planning and preparation of the marketing, sales plans, programs and annual budget.
Walent comes to Hyatt Regency Boston with experience in the hospitality industry and 15 years with Hyatt, most recently from Hyatt Dulles at Dulles International Airport, where she held the director of sales and marketing position for the past five years. Walent began her Hyatt career as a catering and convention services manager at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa. She earned a promotion to social catering manager at Park Hyatt Washington, where she increased existing clientele to capture high-end social events and increase revenues. After exceeding in her role as social catering manager she was promoted to associate director of sales at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa.

Walent graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
