LEESBURG, Va., Aug. 1, 2013?– James Horsman, an accomplished hospitality industry veteran with more than three decades of luxury resort and hotel experience at several notable properties worldwide, has been named Managing Director at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va., resort representatives announced today. Horsman joins Lansdowne Resort after serving as the Managing Director and Vice President, Operations at the Madison Hotel in Washington, DC. The resort is managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts.

During his extensive hospitality career, Horsman enjoyed successful stints in executive management roles with Destination Hotels & Resorts and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. At Destination’s Stowe Mountain Lodge in Vermont, he played an instrumental role in development and launch of the resort, which was named among the top hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler. He also served as the general manager at the award-winning Nine Zero Hotel in Boston which was also named amongst the world’s best hotels by Conde Nast Traveler, and Travel & Leisure, when it was part of the Destination Hotels & Resorts collection.
While with Ritz-Carlton, Horsman was responsible for opening and operating multiple properties in diverse domestic and international locations such as Dubai, Hawaii, Mexico, Marina del Rey, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
