Ken Peduzzi Returns as General Manager of Hunt Valley Inn in Suburban Baltimore, Maryland

HUNT VALLEY, Md., July 30, 2013– Officials for Concord Hospitality Enterprises, one of the top-ranked hotel operators in North America, today announced that Kenneth Peduzzi will return to the 392-room Hunt Valley Inn in suburban Baltimore, Md., as general manager. The hotel was purchased earlier this year by Laurus Corporation and is in the midst of a $10 million renovation to become the first Wyndham Grand hotel in Maryland.

“Ken is a seasoned general manager with a proven track record for building a strong service culture in hotels and ensuring they are a significant part of the local community,” said Bill Gant, regional vice president of operations, full service hotels for Concord. “We are confident that our renovation and upgrades, coupled with Ken’s familiarity with the property and the surrounding market will enable him to maximize the hotel’s unique qualities and enhance the guest experience.”

Peduzzi served as the hotel’s general manager from 2007 – 2011 before moving to the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington Va., where he achieved significant gains in group bookings and total occupancy during a $6 million, property-wide renovation.

With its transformation to the Wyndham brands underway, the hotel is now a Wyndham affiliate, giving guests all of the perks and privileges associated with the Wyndham Rewards program.

“Frequent business travelers and meeting planners especially appreciate the value of hotel rewards programs, particularly one as generous as Wyndham Rewards,” said Peduzzi. “In the first 30 days of our affiliation, the Wyndham booking channels brought in more than 1,800 room nights, and we enrolled more than 100 new Wyndham Rewards members. It’s clear to me that this is a great brand for our market, and I’m looking forward to introducing it to the hotel’s past clientele, and welcoming the loyal Wyndham traveler to our beautiful new property.”

The Hunt Valley Inn’s renovation will touch upon all aspects of the guest experience, starting with exterior upgrades and expansion of the facility’s WiFi capacity, an important amenity needed to fully support the hotel’s 33,000 sq. ft. of convention and meeting space. Improvements also are planned for both indoor and outdoor pre-function areas, including a new event lawn, guest room upgrades and a new concierge level, as well as a re-imagined restaurant and lounge, all designed to bring the hotel to a new level of refinement and establish it as a regional destination.

The hotel offers easy access from I-83 North, located right off of Exit 20A (Shawan Road) at 245 Shawan Road, and is adjacent to McCormick & Company Headquarters, Bank of America, Procter & Gamble and many other fortune 500 company locations. The Hunt Valley Inn also is just minutes from Baltimore’s scenic Inner Harbor, the Baltimore National Aquarium, University of Maryland Baltimore, the Maryland Zoo, Camden Yards and the Baltimore Convention Center.
