Marco Polo Hotels has promoted Andre Scholl to Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
?Andre Scholl was previously Vice President, Group Operations.
?In his new position as Chief Operating Officer, Andre will spearhead the operational design and service delivery of The Wharf Holdings Limited?s six new hotels (opening between 2014 ? 2017) as well as new managed hotels in the pipeline which kicks off with Manila in the first quarter of 2014.
?He will oversee new projects development which will further expand the Marco Polo Hotels reach and positioning as a global player. He will also deputize the group?s President in maximizing financial performance and sales and marketing initiatives.

Andre will continue to oversee all aspects of the operations and business performance for all 13 Marco Polo hotels. Since joining in 2008, Andre has significantly improved the service and product of all these hotels in terms of quality as well as their financial performance. He has also lead operational teams in the successful opening of new hotels in China, including Foshan, Jinjiang and Suzhou, and has played a vital role in talent development which is a critical to the company?s future success especially in today?s highly competitive recruitment markets.
Andre has more than 20 years of hands-on hotel management experience in Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific; working with some of the leading luxury international hotel chains which include the Shangri-La, Conrad and Mandarin Oriental.
