HOUSTON, TX – August 21, 2013?- Niki Nanavati has joined the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston as Sales Manager. Nanavati brings nearly a decade of experience in the luxury sector to her new role and rejoins several former co-workers at the landmark Galleria/Uptown area property, which is currently in the midst of a multi-million-dollar enhancement.
Prior to Sonesta Collection, Nanavati was employed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, serving as Group Sales Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston. In this capacity, she managed sales for both domestic and international markets, including Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Nanavati, who joined the property in 2008, achieved President’s Club status in 2009 and Achievers status in 2011 and 2012, as well as organized and led the property’s Business Development Initiative.
Before that, Nanavati was the Senior Sales Manager for Houston’s Hotel Derek, where she focused on major pharmaceutical and energy-related accounts and maintained the highest ADR within the sales team.
From 2004 until 2007, Nanavati was a Group Sales Manager with Gemstone Hotels & Resorts. She began with the management company at Houston’s legendary Warwick Hotel and worked through the property’s multi-million-dollar transition to Hotel ZaZa Houston. During the redevelopment phase, Nanavati supported sales efforts at Hotel Orrington, a AAA Four Diamond hotel in Evanston, IL, in addition to training sales managers at Hotel ZaZa in the pre-opening phase.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Nanavati began her career in 1999 with Dell Computer Corporation as an Account Manager in the Business Alliance Solutions Division. She later served as at Marketing Analyst for DSI Toys, Inc. and a Marketing Manager for Capital 4, a Houston-based telecommunications company.
