Woolley?s Classic Suites Names Management and Marketing Team for New Denver, Colorado Hotel

DENVER – Oct. 2, 2013- Woolley’s Classic Suites, a new chain of all-suite hotels founded by legendary hotelier Robert E. Woolley, recently hired top managers for the company’s first hotel which is near Denver International Airport (DIA) in Aurora’s Gateway Office Park. Marcelo Birckenstaedt was hired as the general manager and Bridget Simons as the director of sales.

“Both Marcelo Bierckenstaedt and Bridget Simons are well known, respected veterans of Denver’s hospitality market with proven track records of delivering superior guest experiences,” said Robert E. Woolley II, executive vice president of construction and development. “Importantly, they have also previously worked together, making this a great team to promote Woolley Classic Suites’ new Denver hotel.”

“To ensure that all future guests receive the exceptional hospitality and value that comprise the mission of Woolley Classic Suites, it was very important that we hire the best team possible,” added Alex Merson, executive vice president and chief financial officer. “We believe we’ve accomplished that goal by persuading Birckenstaedt and Simons to join our company.”

Bringing nearly 30 years of progressive leadership in the hospitality industry to his role as general manager, Birckenstaedt will be responsible for overall guest satisfaction and successful operation of the hotel. Immediately prior to joining Woolley Classic Suites, he was the general manager who opened the Hampton Inn and Suites at DIA. Birckenstaedt began his career at Denver’s renowned Brown Palace Hotel and also worked at several other Colorado hotels, moving from food and beverage positions into general management in 2005.

Actively involved in the community, Birckenstaedt is a member of the board of directors of Visit Aurora. He holds numerous certifications in the hospitality industry and takes continuing education in business management. In addition, Birckenstaedt earned professorships in industrial mechanics and physics from the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional in Argentina.

As the director of sales, Simons brings 13 years of experience to her responsibilities for all pre-opening sales and marketing activities for the new hotel. Prior to joining Woolley Classic Suites, Simons was the director of sales and marketing for a nearby Hampton Inn and Suites where she worked with Birckenstaedt to help achieve a highly successful opening.

A proud member of the Denver hospitality community, Simons is on the education committee for the Rocky Mountain Business Travelers Association (BTA) and a member of Destination Colorado, the Professional Conference Manager’s Association (PCMA), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Colorado Bioscience Association and Colorado Society of Association Executives (CSAE). She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Arizona State University in Phoenix.

Currently under construction, the first Woolley’s Classic Suites is a four-story hotel featuring 187 guest suites and four executive suites, offering a compelling addition to lodging options available to the millions of overnight visitors annually to the area. The hotel will welcome guests through a lush, oasis-style atrium and will offer complimentary breakfasts and cocktail hours every day, both hallmarks of the Woolley tradition. Hotel facilities will also include seven flexible meeting spaces totaling 5,000 square feet.Woolley?s Classic Suites Names Management and Marketing Team for New Denver, Colorado Hotel.
