Before your trip, consult the Air France website

The website www.airfrance.com contains all the essential information you need to know to pack your bags well. To find out how many bags you can take, along with the maximum weight and size of checked and hand baggage, there is an interactive tool available online in the ?Prepare your trip? section.

How can I find out what my baggage allowance is?

You can find out your baggage allowance in a few clicks by consulting the table online in accordance with your cabin class and destination. For any excess baggage, additional charges will be made at the airport depending on your destination. All rates are available online at www.airfrance.com.

Over and above this baggage allowance, you can purchase an additional allowance online and benefit from a 20% discount on www.airfrance.com: simply choose the number of extra bags you wish to purchase and pay online with your credit card.

You can also obtain detailed information on transporting sports equipment and other special baggage, subject to specific rules.

A few rules to remember on board

When travelling in the Economy cabin, one piece of carry-on baggage is allowed free of charge in the cabin, whose dimensions must not exceed 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm, wheels and handles included. In addition, passengers can take with them one small accessory such as a handbag, laptop or camera. All cabin baggage and accessories must not exceed 12 kilos.

Before boarding, passengers’ bags are checked, so be careful not to put any kind of item which could be considered dangerous (weapons, knives, scissors, razor blades, nail clippers, etc.). They will be automatically taken away from you at the security checkpoint, as well as containers of liquids with a capacity greater than 100ml.

Take advantage of the express baggage drop-off point at the airport

For customers looking for more autonomy in organizing their trip, Air France offers express channels where passengers can print their own baggage labels at a self-service kiosk and go directly to the dedicated ‘express’ baggage drop-off area without queuing at check-in counters. Passengers can also pay for their excess baggage directly at a self-service kiosk using a bank card or their Flying Blue miles.

This express channel is available this summer at a number of French airports including Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles de Gaulle terminals 2F and 2G, Ajaccio, Bastia, Brest, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Lyon, Montpellier, Mulhouse, Nantes, Nice, Pau, Strasbourg, Toulon and Toulouse.

At Paris-Orly, the customer channel has been simplified with the introduction of five automatic baggage drop-off points. After checking in for their flight online or a self-service kiosk where they can print out their baggage label, passengers can go to the baggage drop-off point where they scan their boarding pass and drop off their baggage in exchange for a receipt. The customer?s baggage is then deposited in a traditional circuit where it is inspected and taken care of until it arrives on board the aircraft.

With or without baggage with the Mini offer

Take advantage of the most attractive fares and put together your own trip to suit your needs with Air France?s Mini fares to over 100 destinations in France and Europe. With these fares available all year round, you have access to a simplified product at a very attractive price without checked baggage or Flying Blue miles.

With the Mini fare, customers can carry one piece of cabin baggage free of charge (55cm x 35cm x 25cm maximum) and an accessory such as a handbag or a laptop, with a total weight of 12 kg. Customers wishing to take an additional piece of baggage can purchase this option online for a fee of 15 euros per bag per flight for the first bag and 30 euros if purchased at the airport.
