Choice Hotels is planning to open eight properties in Europe by the end of September, it was announced this week.
The group, which includes the Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands, has already opened nine hotels in the UK and France so far this year.
Six of the new properties are in the UK and include Quality Hotel Bury St Edmunds, Quality Hotel Colchester, Quality Hotel Peterborough and Quality Hotel Kings Lynn.
Another new UK property, the four-star Clarion Collection Hotel Cromwell Stevenage, dates back to the 17th century and was once owned by Oliver Cromwell’s secretary, while Clarion Collection?Hotel Makeney Hall is a Victorian country mansion close to the Peak District.
In Germany, Comfort Hotel Friedrichshafen is expected to open in October 2013 and, following a complete renovation, Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc opens in the Czech Republic in August.
Two hotels have opened in France so far this year – Comfort Hotel Urban City Le Havre and Quality Suites Lyon 7 Lodge.
