Four Points by Sheraton, a brand owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has unveiled a list of new hotels that will help the brand reach a milestone of 200 hotels in 2014.
The brand reached the 175 hotels mark this year with the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan in Kansas, Four Points by Sheraton Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Four Points by Sheraton Ahmadabad in India, and Four Points by Sheraton Kecskemet in Hungary.
Four Points accounted for more than a quarter of Starwood’s new hotel openings and signings in 2012 and is expected to sign more deals in 2013.
In North America, the Four Points by Sheraton brand aims to exceed 120 hotels this year.
Under the plan, the brand will open 17 new properties in the US and Canada during the next 12 months to May 2014.
Some of these properties include Four Points by Sheraton Kansas City – Sports Complex in Missouri, Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport in British Columbia, Four Points by Sheraton Fort Myers Airport in Florida, and Four Points by Sheraton Minot in North Dakota.
Internationally, the brand also plans to enter into three new markets – Peru, Sri Lanka and Libya – while expanding its presence in Malaysia, Mexico and China with the opening of seven properties in 2013.
The seven properties are Four Points by Sheraton Miraflores in Peru; Four Points by Sheraton Colombo, International Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka; Four Points by Sheraton Tripoli in Libya; Four Points by Sheraton Penang in Malaysia; Four Points by Sheraton Bijie in China; Four Points by Sheraton Cancun Centro in Mexico; and Four Points by Sheraton Hefei in Shushan, China.
Four Points will also open one hotel each in Asia, South America and the Middle East during the next 12 months.
The hotels are Four Points by Sheraton Medina in Saudi Arabia, Four Points by Sheraton Bogota in Colombia and Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane in Australia.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide global development president Simon Turner said, “Considering the brand’s powerful positioning, untapped growth channels like conversion projects in developed markets and new build hotels in under-hoteled emerging markets, and ever-stronger demand from partners and developers worldwide, we’re looking toward a very bright future for Four Points.”
