Park Hyatt Siem ReapHyatt Hotels Corporation has opened Park Hyatt Siem Reap, the first Hyatt hotel in Cambodia.

Formerly known as Hotel De La Paix, the property underwent a 14-month renovation by interior designer Bill Bensley before reopening under the Park Hyatt brand, the company said.

“We are delighted to be opening the first Hyatt hotel in Cambodia and the first Park Hyatt in the Southeast Asia region, signifying our ongoing commitment to expansion in sought-after destinations where we know our guests are traveling,” Larry Tchou, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, said in a release.

The Park Hyatt Siem Reap is the fourteenth Hyatt property in the Southeast Asia region. Siem Reap is home to Angkor Wat, the famed 12th century ruins and UNESCO World Heritage site. The hotel location is close to the town’s largest old market, and the restaurant and shopping district.

The property has 108 contemporary guest rooms, 13 suites, four of which have private plunge pools, the company says. The 242-square-meter hotel also includes a gym, two pools, a spa and treatment facility and multi-event space.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently announced it is moving into the?all-inclusive segment?with a $325 million investment in Caribbean-based Playa Hotels & Resorts.
