Lufthansa Supervisory Board extends Carsten Spohr?s contract

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG has prolonged the contract of Carsten Spohr on the Executive Board for a further five-year term up to December 2018. Since 2011, Carsten Spohr has been responsible on the Board as CEO Lufthansa German Airlines.
Carsten Spohr (born 1966) has been at Lufthansa for more than 20 years. After obtaining a degree in industrial engineering, he qualified on the Lufthansa flight training course in Bremen and Phoenix with a commercial airline pilot?s license. He subsequently completed a management training course at Deutsche Aerospace AG, Munich. He returned to Lufthansa in 1994 and has since held a variety of diverse posts at the Lufthansa Group.?
In 2004, Carsten Spohr was appointed to the Management Board of Lufthansa German Airlines charged with responsibility for hub management, cabin crews and human resources at the airline.?
In early 2007, Carsten Spohr took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG. He has been a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Chief Executive Officer Lufthansa German Airlines Board since January 2011.
