Nearly 200 New Hotels with 40,000 Rooms Under Construction in Africa

In the black continent 191 new first-class and luxury hotels with around 39,800 rooms arise in the next years. As published by TOPHOTELPROJECTS (www.tophotelprojects.com), the worldwide leading provider of global B2B hotel data. The focus are major cities such as Lagos in Nigeria – with up to 25 new hotels with a total of 4,000 rooms – or the Egyptian capital city Cairo (2,800 new hotel rooms).

Also in Hurghada, the popular holiday town on the Red Sea, over 2,200 new hotel rooms are going to be built. This location is on the third place of the hotel construction hot spots in Africa now. Contrary to other reports and official travel warnings, holiday in Hurghada is safe, travelers and local residents report. One flagship project is the Steigenberger Aqua Magic in Hurghada. The Topresort with 668 rooms will be opened in November.

One of the largest upcoming hotel construction project in Africa is the Atalayoun Golf Resort, which is being developed in the port-city of Nador in Morocco. The project with its 1.020 rooms will be inaugurated in June 2014. The ambitious project offers besides a four and five star hotel also a boutique hotel as well as a 18 hole golf course, 7 marinas, 650 villas and 2.400 apartments.
