NEW YORK, June 17, 2013 – Opinionated About Dining (OAD) released today its annual Top 100 European Restaurants for 2013 list. The list is based upon the opinions of food bloggers and diners who travel regularly in an effort to visit the world?s best restaurants. More than 3,500 people contributed over 110,000 reviews toward this year?s results.
The OAD approach to rating restaurants relies on tapping into the experience and opinions from diners who are passionate about where they eat, and are able to describe how strongly they would recommend a restaurant and why. In describing what makes the list different, OAD founder, Steve Plotnicki, says ?Other lists typically base results on the opinion of journalists and other food professionals. I started OAD to give a voice to bloggers and other avid dining hobbyists.? Adding that, ?It isn?t unusual for our top reviewers to eat between 100-150 meals at restaurants around the world every year, for no other reason than to experience the vast pleasures that these dining experiences offer.?

The list will be celebrated on June 17 at Saturne restaurant in Paris. Asked why he chose Paris, Plotnicki commented, ?While almost every country in Europe can now boast about having a top restaurant within its borders, France remains the epicenter of the culinary world.?
Restaurants from 11 different European countries are on the list including France with 37; Italy with 16; Spain with 13; Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom, each with 8; Denmark with 4; Sweden with 3; The Netherlands with 2, and Austria and Finland, each with 1.
New establishments to this year?s list include: Faviken, Jarpen, Sweden (18); 41 Degrees Experience, Barcelona, Spain (19); Piazza Duomo, Alba, Italy (25); La Marine, Noirmoutier-en-Ile, France (26); Le Grenouillere, Montreuil-sur-Mer, France (29), and Restaurant Franzen, Stockholm, Sweden (36).
