After a positive first seven months of 2013, the German Federal Bureau of Statistics has once again reported constant incoming tourism growth for August. Between January and August this year, there have been more than 49 million international nights booked in accommodations with ten or more beds. This is a growth of 4% compared to the same period in the previous year.

?The popularity of Destination Germany with international visitors ensures continued growth for incoming tourism. The fantastic sunny weather we saw this summer inspired many to visit Germany ? overnight figures for August this year were 7% more than the previous year. Figures for the first eight months of the year show a growth of 4% in international overnight bookings, which for us is incredibly positive,? says Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB).

An upcoming highlight for Destination Germany is the famous Christmas Markets, kicking off all over the country at the end of November.
