SWISS customers who make use of the company?s online check-in facilities between 23 September and 13 October will be helping an SOS Children?s Village in Angola to procure materials for its school. SWISS?s online check-in option offers a host of advantages including self-seat selection, electronic boarding passes and valuable time saved on arrival at the airport for the flight.
SWISS offers its online check-in option via a variety of channels: web check-in from the computer at home or the office, or mobile check-in by smartphone while the customer is on the move. The convenient online check-in option enables travellers to complete their check-in formalities before arriving at the airport, including selecting their seat and having their boarding pass sent free to their phone in email or text message form.
Online check-in not only saves valuable time at the airport. It eliminates substantial amounts of paper, too. And to highlight this, SWISS is donating the equivalent of the paper saved through its online check-in between 23 September and 13 October to the school at the Benguela SOS Children?s Village in Angola, in the form of text and exercise books.
SOS Children?s Villages International and Swiss International Air Lines have been working together for several years now. SWISS collects loose change in all currencies on its flights which is used to support families in various SOS Children?s Villages; and SWISS also promotes and assists the entire SOS Children?s Villages International organization through joint communications and specific initiatives like this latest one. SWISS is additionally involved with the SWISS Staff Foundation for Children in Need, a charity run voluntarily by its employees that also raises money for several SOS Children?s Villages.
