Qatar Airways has announced it will suspend flights to the Seychelles, effective 1 September 2013.
Citing commercial reasons for the suspension, the last daily service between Doha and Seychelles? island, Mahe Island will fly on 31 August 2013.
The airline?s chief executive Akbar Al Baker said the decision was made after careful consideration, but remained optimistic for the airline?s return on the route.
“We have built up a strong relationship with our partners over the years and will continue to work with them and the relevant authorities to ensure a smooth discontinuation of the route,? he said.
Qatar Airways assured efforts are being made to ensure agents, tour operators and individual travellers ?with bookings on the affected route are re-protected on other airlines or given a full refund?.
