Six more cruise lines have canceled Egyptian ports of call and?Nile River?cruises for the upcoming season.?Last week’s continued unrest and violence?prompted the U.S. Department of State to issue a new warning deferring all travel into the country.
Oceania Cruises?and?Regent Seven Seas Cruises?both have canceled upcoming calls into Egypt for 2013 and 2014.
And, in the U.K. last week, both?Thomson Cruises?and?Cruise & Maritime Voyages?announced cancellations of their scheduled calls in the region.
Avalon Waterways?has decided to cancel all Nile River cruises through the end of 2013, while?Viking River Cruiseshas canceled its departures for September and October.
“We are seeing limited cancellations from passengers on later dates, but we have not announced any changes to departures beyond October,” says Viking spokesperson Ian Jeffries.
As Cruise Critic reported last week, several other cruise lines have canceled most, if not all calls to Egypt and Nile River cruises for 2013 and into 2014.
