21 February, 2013?Hong Kong and Macau —- Renowned for its attentive “Asian Heart” service, StarWorld Macau is dedicated to providing a premium quality dining experience for its guests at affordable prices. Its star-rated Japanese restaurant, Inagiku, is launching a series of season-themed menus, namely “Spring”, “Summer”, “Autumn” and “Winter” throughout the Year of the Snake, enabling guests to enjoy a wide range of fresh and authentic Japanese ingredients. The first menu, “Spring Sakura Kaiseki Nine-course Dinner Set” will be launched in March to kick-start the series.

Each of the four seasons in Japan has its unique features, and the Kaiseki menu will be changed accordingly, from indigenous ingredients to dish decoration. Japan is famous for its spectacular cherry blossoms in Spring, which is also known as Sakura blossom in Japanese. It is a Japanese tradition to gather with friends and family to appreciate cherry blossom and enjoy seasonal delicacies to celebrate the arrival of Spring. In light of this, Inagiku is putting together a Spring menu inspired by the cherry blossom from 1 March to 30 April, serving signature dishes in Sakura fantasy featuring the seasonal ingredients such as Sakura Snapper and Octopus Ocellatus, to echo with the spirit of Spring.

The Japanese Kaiseki menu follows a dining sequence to reflect the perfect state of harmony deeply rooted in Japanese culture. For Sakura Kaiseki, chefs normally use Sakura pale pink as the theme color, accompanied by dining utensils in the palette of spring colors, to create visual enjoyment from the right beginning of the meal.

Sea Urchin in Jelly with Wasabi Sauce

Sea urchin, is called “uni” in Japanese, and is popular among seafood lovers because of its fresh taste and texture. The chefs at Inagiku use a special jelly coating with a light shrimp taste to wrap around the fresh sea urchin. In addition to the spicy Wasabi sauce and delicate Sakura decoration, this dish provides a comprehensive visual and sensory experience.

Octopus Ocellatus, Crab Meat Roll, Bamboo Shoot, Lotus Root and Bean Curd

On the southern coast of Hokkaido, Spring is the breeding season for the Octopus Ocellatus. With a large amount of eggs, Octopus Ocellatus is ideal to be served as appetizers. The combination of Octopus Ocellatus and crab meat roll not only brings out the unique taste to complement each other, but with the crunchy bamboo shoot and lotus root, as well as the refreshing bean curd sesame sauce, it provides a wide range of tasting experiences all at once.

Toro, Sakura Snapper, Ark Shell and Yellow Tail

The best season for tasting snapper is Spring. During this time, the meat of the snapper is pink and semi-translucent, reinforcing the theme color of the Spring menu. Sakura Snapper live in the unpolluted deepwater, providing a fresh and juicy taste with nutritional values beneficial to humans. Snapper also contain high levels of collagen that has been proven to be good for the rejuvenation of skin. Apart from the exquisite Toro, crunchy Ark Shell and rich Yellow Tail sashimi fillets are also served in thick slices, making this platter an irresistible temptation for all lovers of seafood.

Steamed Snapper wrapped with Sakura Leaf

Both flowers and leaves of the Japanese cherry blossom tree have unique scents. According to the chefs at Inagiku, Snapper steamed with cherry leaves is a perfect combination as the cherry leaves enhance the flavor and complexity of the fish, while the light flavor of the fish can also highlight the delicate scent of the cherry leaves, to reach a good balance in flavor.

Sakura Pudding

Beautiful cherry blossom is not only for appreciation, its special and exquisite scent also makes the cherry flower one of the best dessert ingredients.
