With a plethora of changes being announced at the top in Carnival in the US and UK, Carnival Australia CEO Ann Sherry has announced that the company?s Commercial Director Princess Cruises, Alan Stuart is leaving Carnival on July 11, with Ms Sherry saying, ?Alan came to this decision after considerable personal reflection and is looking forward to exploring new opportunities outside of the organisation.?
?In his short time with Carnival Australia, Alan built a strong and talented team for Princess Cruises and led them through a significant period of change.?
?This unified team is a legacy of Alan?s time with us and one we look forward to nurturing in the months and years ahead.?
Mr Stuart only joined the company in September 2012, taking over from Mr Stan Birge, who after two years in Australia, returned to the US to take up the new position of Vice President North America for Cunard within Carnival Corporation.
Mr Stuart formerly undertook roles with Qantas, Serco Transport, Great Southern Rail and prior to Carnival, with Skywest Airlines as Executive General Manager Commercial.
Ms Sherry added that an external search is now underway to find a suitable successor, with Brett Wendorf taking on the role on an interim basis, when Mr Stuart leaves Carnival Australia.
