The one caveat is that group business saw occupancy increases of only 2 percent and ADR gains of 0.4 percent.

?Revenue per available room growth through the remainder of 2013 is largely due to the strength of the transient segment,? said Tim Hart, executive vice president, business intelligence, TravelClick in a statement. ?We expect little to no growth in the group segment over the remainder of 2013. However, group booking pace for 2014 has been healthier, so there is reason to believe that this segment will see more growth in the New Year.?

From September 2013 through August 2014, committed occupancy (transient rooms reserved and group rooms committed) has increased 3.2 percent compared with the same period last year. ADR, based on current reservations, is up 2.5 percent.
