CHICAGO – JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Christie?s are pleased to announce the 12th exhibition in their ongoing series of cultural events across the globe, and their second art exhibition together in Chicago. Guests will get a first look at more than 20 highlights from the Christie?s upcoming spring auction season. Before the exceptional paintings hit the auction block, the pieces will be on view at the JW Marriott Chicago (151 West Adams Street) from Tuesday, April 16 through Thursday, April 18.
As a public event, guests will be invited to stroll through the elegant marble-clad mezzanine level of the luxury, landmark hotel?s lobby for an exclusive preview of artwork from Christie?s that will eventually be sold at auction. Guests can then retreat to the hotel?s Lobby Lounge to enjoy art-inspired cocktails and bites from Executive Chef Michael Reich.
Specialty menu items availably only during the three-day exhibition include: Duck Confit ($9) with a sour cherry reduction, salsify, and mache inspired by Jean-Francois Raffa?lli?s Place de la Trinit? and Diver Scallops ($9) with ramp pesto, crisp kale, and red pepper oil, which pays homage to the luxurious garden setting of Childe Hassam?s In a French Garden. To commemorate Edward Hopper?s Kelly Jenness House, the hotel?s culinary team created a vegan dish of Chanterelle Fava ($7) with chanterelle mushrooms, fava beans, lentil cracker, and tangerine gastrique to represent the complex and earthy palate that such a landscape would provide. Specialty cocktails celebrate the ?Art of the Aroma? with herb and fresh-fruit infused libations, including the Strawberry Basil Martini ($14) with Ketel One Citroen, Lemoncello, fresh strawberries, fresh basil, lemon juice, and simple syrup and the Mandarin Mint Crush ($14) with Ketel One Oranje , Cointreau, fresh orange slices, mint leaves, fresh thyme, lime Juice and simple syrup.

The exhibition will feature works from the upcoming sales of 19th Century European Art, Impressionist & Modern Art, Post-War & Contemporary Art, and American Art. Highlights include Edward Hopper?s Kelly Jenness House, William-Adolphe Bouguereau?s Les deux soeurs, Gerhard Richter?s Abstraktes bild (800-5), and Henri Manguin?s Etude invers?e, Nu sous les arbres, Villa Demi?re.
