CSM Lodging, a division of CSM Corporation, has named Robert Payne regional sales director for the hospitality management and ownership company.? Mr. Payne will oversee and lead the sales programs for CSM Lodging?s properties in the Milwaukee and Greater Portland markets, as well as the company?s full service consortium of hotels.? Kate Burda, vice president sales & marketing, made the announcement.

Robert Payne was previously director of sales & marketing for The Depot Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, CSM Lodging?s flagship property, where he and his sales team experienced remarkable success in the luxury hotel?s revenue growth and sales systems development.? He began with The Depot as sales manager.
Earlier in his hospitality career, Mr. Payne worked in sales for a number of leading brands, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, The InterContinental Hotel Group, and Hilton.? For a time Mr. Payne also worked as a retail buyer for a number of brands.? He began his professional life as a CPA with KPMG.
Mr. Payne is a graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth.? He has previously served as director and vice president for Meeting Professionals International, Minnesota Chapter.? Robert Payne resides in Minneapolis with his family.
